What is weekly holiday allowance?

Weekly holiday allowance is a system under Article 55 of the Labor Standards Act in which an employer must provide at least one paid holiday per week on average to a worker who has worked the prescribed number of working days in a week without absence.

Weekly Holiday Allowance Calculation Formula

Weekly Holiday Allowance = Standard Weekly Working Hours ÷ 40 × 8 hours × Hourly Wage
(However, for work of 40 hours or more per week, 8 hours × hourly wage)
Workers working less than 15 hours per week are not entitled to weekly holiday allowance. Part-time workers are also guaranteed to receive weekly holiday allowance if they work 15 hours or more per week.
